Monitors for small desks, measured properly
Screen size is the wrong number. Depth, stand footprint and panel height decide whether a monitor fits a real desk.

A 27-inch monitor on a 60cm desk puts your eyes about 45cm from the panel, which is closer than any ergonomics guidance recommends and close enough that you notice individual pixels.
Measure the desk first
The number that matters is depth, not diagonal. Most stands eat between 18 and 24 centimetres, and a monitor arm that reclaims that space costs less than the difference between two screen sizes.
Where cheap monitors cut corners
Stand adjustment goes first, then panel uniformity, then the ports. A screen you cannot raise to eye level is a screen that will give you neck ache regardless of its colour accuracy.
